Adrienne is dreading a public hanging, so she asks one of the guards to “show” her what to expect. It turns out that Adrienne would rather commit suicide than to be a public spectacle. Susanne takes her into a room equipped with a noose and helps Adrienne up onto the stool and places the rope around Adrienne’s neck. Adrienne then steps off the stool and Susanne realizes that she’s been tricked and in deep trouble. Gabriella enters and devises a plan to cover the mistake. It’s true that 3 people can keep a secret if two of them are dead.
